Zinc finger protein 80 (ZNF80) is a member of the zinc finger protein family, characterized by tandem arrays of zinc finger motifs that coordinate zinc ions to stabilize their structure[1][10][5]. ZNF80 is predicted to function as a sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor, mainly involved in the regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II[1][10][7]. It is primarily located in the nucleus and possibly the cytoplasm[1]. Zinc finger proteins are a large, highly diverse group of transcription factors known for their roles in gene expression, cell differentiation, and the maintenance of genome stability[2][3][7]. Specific disease associations for ZNF80 include links to localized chondrosarcoma and intellectual developmental disorders, but direct roles in common therapeutic pathways or as drug targets are not documented[9].
