Zinc finger protein 800 (ZNF800) is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein comprised of six C2H2-type zinc finger domains, which enable it to bind DNA and regulate gene transcription[1][5]. It is expressed at low levels in most tissues, with higher enrichment in bone marrow, testis, and lymph nodes[1][4]. Recent research demonstrates that ZNF800 promotes cell proliferation and migration in lower-grade glioma, correlating with poor prognosis and increased immune cell infiltration, especially CD8+ T cells and dendritic cells[3]. ZNF800 is also implicated as a regulator of endocrine pancreas development, acinar cell differentiation, and possibly fat gene expression. While no drugs are currently approved for targeting ZNF800, its role in cancer progression and regulatory networks makes it a promising biomarker and potential therapeutic target for malignancy and other diseases[1][3][5].
