Zinc finger protein 829 is a predicted DNA-binding transcription factor in humans that is part of the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, which generally functions by binding DNA and regulating the transcription of target genes[3][5]. ZNF829 is a nuclear protein and, based on sequence and family homology, may participate in the regulation of specific gene promoters via RNA polymerase II[2][3][5]. While the family of zinc finger proteins is known to be involved in a range of biological processes—including metabolism, cell cycle, apoptosis, immune response, and tumorigenesis—no specific function or disease association has been documented for ZNF829 itself. There are no known drugs, safety issues, or biomarker applications for this molecule at present.
