Zinc finger protein 830 (ZNF830) is a nuclear protein containing a C2H2-type zinc finger domain and coiled-coil domain, implicated in transcriptional regulation and pre-mRNA splicing as a component of the spliceosomal complex. ZNF830 acts as a key regulator of homologous recombination (HR)-mediated DNA double-strand break repair, maintaining genome integrity in proliferating cells. It is recruited to DNA damage sites in an ATR kinase-dependent manner, where it directly interacts with CtIP to facilitate DNA end resection and promote efficient repair. ZNF830 is associated with enhanced cell survival following DNA damage and mediates resistance to chemotherapeutic agents and radiotherapy in cancer. It is also required for oocyte survival and may play roles in other contexts involving DNA replication and chromosome maintenance. Overexpression or dysregulation of ZNF830 contributes to cancer progression, therapy resistance, and potentially to certain hereditary DNA repair syndromes
