Zinc finger protein 836 (ZNF836) is a human protein encoded by the ZNF836 gene, located on chromosome 19[9][4]. It belongs to the C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family, which are DNA-binding transcription factors involved in the regulation of gene expression[7][3]. ZNF836 is predicted to enable DNA binding and zinc ion binding activity, acting mainly as a transcriptional regulator in the nucleus[4][10][5]. Currently, there is no evidence linking ZNF836 directly to major diseases, roles as a therapeutic target, or known drug interactions[4][10]. Its functional specificity beyond transcriptional regulation remains to be established.
