Overview

Zinc finger protein 837 (ZNF837) is a human protein encoded by the ZNF837 gene located on chromosome 19q13.43 with a C2H2-type zinc finger motif, functioning primarily as a DNA-binding transcription factor. ZNF837 is predicted to participate in the regulation of gene expression by RNA polymerase II and is predominantly localized in the nucleus. It exhibits identical protein binding activity, interacts with metal ions (zinc), and is involved in the regulation of transcription, consistent with the general properties of the zinc finger protein family. ZNF837 has low expression levels in tissues such as pancreas, liver, uterus, and muscle, with evidence suggesting altered expression in disease states, though its precise disease associations and molecular functions remain to be clarified. There are no current reports of ZNF837 being directly targeted by therapeutic drugs, used as a biomarker, or implicated in safety concerns[1][2][3][4][5].
