Zinc finger protein 84 (ZNF84)

Target
ZNF84
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Zinc finger protein
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 84 is a nuclear protein encoded by the ZNF84 gene on human chromosome 12. It contains zinc finger motifs that facilitate DNA binding, and it is predicted to function as a transcription factor, regulating transcription by RNA polymerase II. While it has low tissue specificity, it may play a role in regulation of gene expression and has been associated with certain inflammatory diseases such as granulomatous endometritis. There is currently no evidence that it is a drug target, biomarker, or has notable safety concerns as a therapeutic target
