Zinc finger protein 844 is a member of the zinc finger protein family in humans, defined by its C2H2-type zinc finger motif that coordinates zinc ions to stabilize its structure. Like other zinc finger proteins, ZNF844 is presumed to function as a transcription factor, binding DNA and regulating gene expression, but specific biological functions, disease associations, or drug interactions for ZNF844 have not been established in the published literature as of the current date. Zinc finger proteins overall are a large and functionally diverse family involved in transcriptional regulation, cell differentiation, apoptosis, and other cellular processes, particularly through their DNA-binding capabilities and interactions with other biomolecules.
