Zinc finger protein 891 (ZNF891) is a predicted human transcription factor containing zinc finger domains, which are small motifs stabilized by zinc ions enabling sequence-specific binding to DNA. ZNF891 is believed to function in the regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II, likely acting in the nucleus to modulate gene expression. While zinc finger proteins as a family are abundant and play diverse roles in transcription, RNA binding, and cellular signaling—sometimes with implications in human disease—there is currently no direct evidence that ZNF891 itself is a therapeutic target or is involved in specific diseases.
