Target intelligence / Profile preview

Zinc finger protein 92 homolog (ZFP92)

Target
ZFP92
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, KRAB domain-containing zinc finger protein
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 92 homolog (ZFP92) is a KRAB domain-containing transcription factor that binds to DNA, modulating gene expression and participating in the silencing of B1/Alu SINE transposable elements[4]. It is predicted to regulate transcription, particularly through RNA polymerase II, and is active in the nucleus[2]. ZFP92 belongs to the large family of zinc finger proteins, which play critical roles in gene regulation, cell differentiation, apoptosis, and immune response but most are not themselves direct therapeutic targets[1][2]. There is limited evidence connecting ZFP92 directly to disease mechanisms, though genetic analyses have associated it with adrenoleukodystrophy[2]. No marketed drugs, biomarkers, or drug mechanisms currently target ZFP92.
