Overview

ZMYND10 antisense RNA 1 (ZMYND10-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene in humans, transcribed from the opposite strand of the ZMYND10 locus[2][6]. Unlike the protein-coding ZMYND10 gene, which encodes a co-chaperone protein involved in cilia formation and is implicated in primary ciliary dyskinesia, ZMYND10-AS1 produces a non-coding RNA that is not translated into protein. The specific biological function of ZMYND10-AS1 is not well established, and it is not considered a direct therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or similar molecular entity. Current genomic resources and gene catalogs list its transcript and expression data, but no direct roles in disease or therapeutic targeting have been described to date[2][6][9]. There are no known drugs or mechanisms of action, and it is not recognized as a biomarker or associated with safety concerns. Its main relevance is in the context of gene annotation and potential regulatory RNA research.
