It is classified as an antisense RNA, specifically a subclass of lncRNAs that regulate gene expression by various mechanisms, including RNA duplex formation with sense transcripts, modulation of mRNA stability or translation, and recruitment of chromatin-modifying complexes[2][3][5]. There is currently no direct evidence establishing ZNF114-AS1 as a therapeutic target, nor are any drugs known to target it. While many antisense lncRNAs have roles in cancer and other diseases through regulatory effects on adjacent gene expression, there is no reported disease association or therapeutic application specifically for ZNF114-AS1 as of now[1][2][4][5].
