ZNF30 antisense RNA 1 (ZNF30-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand relative to the ZNF30 gene locus on the human genome[4]. Like other antisense lncRNAs, ZNF30-AS1 is believed to regulate the expression or stability of its corresponding sense gene (ZNF30), but its specific biological roles are not described in the current literature. By analogy to other antisense lncRNAs, its functions may involve modulation of transcription, mRNA stability, or chromatin state of the sense gene through RNA-RNA or RNA-protein interactions[1][3][4]. There are no current reports of pathogenic roles, biomarkers, or pharmacologic interventions targeting ZNF30-AS1.
