ZNF337 antisense RNA 1 (ZNF337-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) found in humans, classified as an antisense RNA gene located on chromosome 20. It does not encode a protein but is instead implicated in the regulation of gene expression, primarily by acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) to sponge microRNAs such as miR-671-5p and miR-485[1][2]. ZNF337-AS1 has been identified as differentially expressed in disease states, with functional associations to asthma and several cancers, most notably breast cancer, where it demonstrates upregulated expression in tumor tissues[1]. Its expression and potential role in modulating pathways relevant to tumor biology suggest it could function as a biomarker for certain diseases, but there is currently no evidence that ZNF337-AS1 is a direct therapeutic target or that any drugs interact specifically with it[1][2][7].
