ZNF385D antisense RNA 2 (ZNF385D-AS2) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 3 (chr3:21942566-21979828, human genome hg38). It is transcribed in the antisense direction relative to the ZNF385D gene. ZNF385D-AS2 is predicted to have regulatory functions, potentially influencing gene expression networks in cancer. Studies show that low levels of ZNF385D-AS2 are significantly associated with advanced clinical stage and poor prognosis in liver cancer (specifically hepatocellular carcinoma), and may act as an independent prognostic biomarker. The biological mechanism may involve ceRNA interactions with miR-96 and miR-182, but direct therapeutic intervention has not yet been explored.
