ZNF45 antisense RNA 1 (ZNF45-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 19, transcribed in antisense orientation relative to the protein-coding ZNF45 locus. Like other antisense lncRNAs, ZNF45-AS1 is likely involved in regulating the expression of its sense gene counterpart (ZNF45) or neighboring genes through mechanisms such as transcriptional interference or modulation of RNA stability. As with other lncRNA antisense transcripts, its function may include guiding chromatin-modifying complexes, influencing chromatin structure, or participating in cis- or trans-regulatory networks. However, ZNF45-AS1 has no currently documented direct links to diseases or pharmacological interventions in public genetic or biomedical databases.
