ZNF454 divergent transcript (ZNF454-DT, TCONS_00009823) is a long noncoding RNA processed via divergent transcription from the ZNF454 gene region. Divergent transcription refers to RNA polymerase II initiating transcription in both directions at active promoters, often producing noncoding RNAs on the antisense strand of protein-coding genes. Most such transcripts are low-abundance and may regulate chromatin environment, modulate gene expression, or have transient regulatory roles, but for ZNF454-DT itself, there is currently no published functional or clinical characterization. Its sequence and genomic location are precisely defined, but further biological, pathological, or therapeutic significance remains to be investigated.
