Phase 3, randomised, double-blind trial in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) comparing Salmeterol/Fluticasone Propionate with Placebo (2 arms). Primary endpoints: Number of CD68+ inflammatory cells per area of biopsy tissue at 13 weeks, Number of CD8+ inflammatory cells per area of biopsy tissue at 13 weeks and 1 more.
