L-Glutamine for Sickle Cell Anemia and Sickle ß0-Thalassemia

Phase 2, randomised, double-blind trial in sickle cell anemia (SCA) and sickle cell beta plus thalassemia (HbS/β+) comparing L-glutamine with Placebo (2 arms). Primary endpoints: Effect of L-glutamine Therapy on Exercise Endurance at 12 weeks and Effect of L-glutamine Therapy on Breath by Breath Exercise at 12 weeks. Started Feb 2004; status: terminated.
