Phase 3, randomised, double-blind trial of tiotropium and salmeterol in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (4 arms), sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim. Primary endpoints: Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 Second Area Under the Curve 0-12 Hours at 6 weeks, Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 Second Area Under the Curve 12-24 Hours at 6 weeks and 2 more.
