Phase 2, open-label trial of metformin in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) (2 arms), sponsored by Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo. Type 2 diabetes patients receiving Metformin and lifestyle changes.

Healthy individuals serving as a control group.

Who it enrols
Patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus without obstructive coronary disease and normal echocardiogram. Healthy volunteers are included as controls.
