Curemeta

Curemeta is a biotechnology company that was founded to develop innovative cancer therapies by targeting the matrisome, the collection of proteins that form the extracellular matrix (ECM) within the metastatic niche. Co-founded by MIT professors Richard Hynes and Robert Langer, the company utilized a proprietary proteomic platform to identify ECM proteins that are uniquely present in metastatic sites but absent in healthy tissues. This strategy aimed to disrupt the microenvironment that supports the survival and growth of disseminated tumor cells, potentially preventing or treating metastatic disease. Curemeta's research focused on high-unmet-need areas in oncology, specifically targeting metastatic solid tumors. Although the company received initial backing from Polaris Partners, it has since become inactive and is no longer progressing its pipeline publicly.
