18B12 is a murine IgG2a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets the mouse CD20 antigen. It is widely utilized in preclinical research as a surrogate for clinical anti-CD20 therapies, such as rituximab, to study B-cell depletion and therapeutic strategies for B-cell malignancies in murine models (e.g., the Eμ-Tcl1 transgenic model of chronic lymphocytic leukemia). The antibody's primary mechanism of action is the depletion of CD20-positive B-cells through activatory Fcγ receptor-mediated processes, particularly antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP).
