7-O-methyltaxifolin is a methylated flavonoid derivative of taxifolin (dihydroquercetin) isolated from the plant *Pulicaria jaubertii*. It has been investigated for its anticancer properties, particularly demonstrating antiproliferative activity against colon cancer cell lines such as HCT-116. The compound exerts its effects by inducing apoptosis, evidenced by increased expression of caspase-3 and caspase-9, as well as morphological changes like chromatin condensation and nuclear shrinkage. Molecular docking studies suggest that 7-O-methyltaxifolin may also target anti-apoptotic proteins like Bcl-xl and signaling kinases such as JAK2, making it a candidate for further development in oncology.
