Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AB010 is a bispecific antibody currently in the discovery and lead optimization stage for the treatment of cancer cachexia. Developed by Letolab, the therapeutic candidate is designed to simultaneously target Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF-15) and an undisclosed second target. GDF-15 is a key mediator of weight loss and anorexia in cancer patients, acting through the GFRAL receptor in the hindbrain to suppress appetite and promote metabolic changes. By neutralizing GDF-15 and modulating a secondary pathway, AB010 aims to reverse or prevent the progressive loss of muscle mass and adipose tissue associated with cancer-related wasting syndrome, potentially offering a more robust therapeutic effect than monospecific GDF-15 inhibitors.
