Overview

ABT-202 refers to two distinct investigational drugs developed by different companies. The first is a small molecule agonist of neural nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs), originally developed by Abbott (now AbbVie), and studied as an analgesic for pain management. This compound acts on neuronal nAChRs to modulate neurotransmission but did not advance past clinical trials for pain indications[2][3][5]. The second, more recent drug named ABT-202 is a small molecule pan-KRAS inhibitor under development by AnBogen Therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors and cancer. This version targets KRAS protein mutations using a covalent binding mechanism and is currently in preclinical development[4][6][8].
