Overview
Acetylsalicylic acid + dimethyl fumarate is a proprietary combination drug that pairs aspirin with dimethyl fumarate to reduce the incidence and severity of fumarate flush, a common side effect of dimethyl fumarate therapy in multiple sclerosis patients. Dimethyl fumarate is used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis, while the addition of aspirin helps mitigate the flushing side effect without affecting the pharmacokinetic profile of dimethyl fumarate or causing additional gastrointestinal events. In clinical studies, this combination has shown a 63% reduction in flush compared to fumarate alone.
