ACT100 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Xiamen Amoytop Biotech Co., Ltd. for the treatment of autoimmune conditions, specifically systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE). It functions by targeting and neutralizing the B-cell activating factor (BAFF), also known as B-lymphocyte stimulator (BLyS). BAFF is a critical cytokine in the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family that regulates B-cell maturation, proliferation, and survival. By inhibiting BAFF, ACT100 aims to reduce the survival of autoreactive B-cells and the production of pathogenic autoantibodies, thereby mitigating the underlying drivers of lupus. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to establish its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic profile in healthy volunteers and patients.
