Overview
Active Iron Women is an oral nutritional supplement developed by Solvotrin Therapeutics for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia in women. The formulation contains 25mg of elemental iron as ferrous sulfate, encapsulated in a proprietary whey protein matrix. This delivery system is designed to protect the iron from stomach acid and target the divalent metal transporter-1 (DMT-1) in the small intestine, which is the body's natural site for iron absorption. This targeted approach is clinically shown to provide 2X better absorption compared to standard ferrous sulfate while remaining gentle on the stomach and reducing common side effects like constipation and nausea. The product is typically provided as a dual-pack containing the iron capsules and a multivitamin tablet with 17 essential vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, folic acid, and zinc, to support energy levels, hormonal balance, and reproductive health.
