Overview

Adalimumab + cyclosporine is a combination therapy consisting of two immunomodulatory drugs used primarily in the management of severe inflammatory diseases such as psoriatic arthritis and refractory psoriasis. Adalimumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets and neutralizes tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), thereby reducing inflammation. Cyclosporine is a calcineurin inhibitor that suppresses T-cell activation by inhibiting the transcription of interleukin-2, leading to broad immunosuppressive effects. The combination has been studied for patients with inadequate response to methotrexate or monotherapy, showing improved clinical outcomes in psoriatic arthritis and potential benefit in managing injection site reactions associated with adalimumab[1][2][4]. This regimen may allow dose reductions of each component while maintaining efficacy.
