Adhibit

Adhibit is a name associated with two distinct medical products. As a topical dermatological treatment, Adhibit Gel contains the retinoid adapalene and is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate acne. It works by binding to specific retinoic acid nuclear receptors, normalizing the differentiation of follicular epithelial cells and providing anti-inflammatory effects. As a surgical product, Adhibit was developed by Angiotech Pharmaceuticals (and licensed to Baxter Healthcare) as a sprayable, self-polymerizing synthetic gel. This formulation is designed to prevent the formation of post-surgical adhesions by creating a temporary physical barrier between tissue surfaces during the healing process.
