Overview

A combination therapy consisting of adrenomedullin, a bioactive peptide with vasodilating, anti-inflammatory, and mucosal healing properties, and infliximab, a TNF-alpha blocker. This combination has been investigated for treating refractory Crohn's disease, particularly in patients who have developed a loss of response to infliximab monotherapy. In a case report, the addition of adrenomedullin to ongoing infliximab therapy led to rapid symptom remission and significant mucosal healing without the need for steroid therapy.
