Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Afala is an over-the-counter (OTC) homeopathic and release-active medication developed by Materia Medica Holding for the treatment of prostate disorders. The active ingredient consists of affinity-purified antibodies to prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in ultra-low doses, prepared using homeopathic dilutions (C12, C30, and C200). Its mechanism of action involves the modification of the functional activity of endogenous PSA, which regulates the proliferative activity of prostate cells and provides anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, and analgesic effects. Afala is indicated for the treatment of chronic prostatitis (both bacterial and abacterial) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) stages I and II, particularly when these conditions are accompanied by dysuric disorders. Clinical studies have shown that it can help reduce prostate volume and improve urodynamics.
