Amoxylet CV

Amoxylet CV is an oral combination antibiotic developed by Saanso Pharma, containing amoxicillin (500mg) and clavulanic acid (125mg). Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic aminopenicillin that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to and inactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are essential for the cross-linking of peptidoglycan chains. This leads to bacterial cell lysis and death. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that structurally resembles beta-lactam antibiotics; it covalently binds to and inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby preventing the degradation of amoxicillin and extending its spectrum of activity. The combination is used to treat various bacterial infections including those of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues.
