Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination antifungal therapy consisting of amphotericin B (a polyene antifungal) and isavuconazole (a triazole antifungal). This combination has demonstrated synergistic effects against various fungal pathogens, particularly Mucorales species that cause mucormycosis. In experimental models, the combination showed superior efficacy compared to either drug alone, with higher survival rates and greater reduction in fungal burden. The combination may be particularly valuable for treating severe, disseminated, or refractory fungal infections.
