Andovir

Andovir is a topical oral combination product developed by Mycotech Pharma, formulated as a mouth spray for the prevention of viral infections such as SARS-CoV-2, colds, and flu. The product consists of AndoSan—a natural extract derived from three mushrooms (primarily Agaricus blazei Murill, along with Hericium erinaceus and Grifola frondosa)—and extracts from the Cistus plant. AndoSan has demonstrated immunomodulating properties and has been shown in cell assays to inhibit the binding of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein to ACE2 receptors by up to 40%, potentially blocking viral entry into host cells. Cistus is a traditional medicinal plant used for its antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects. Launched in February 2024, Andovir is positioned as a dietary supplement or OTC-style preventive health product.
