anti-CD19 and anti-CD20 CAR-T Cells (specifically the candidate identified as A-02) is an autologous, humanized, dual-specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. Developed by Fujian Medical University, this therapy involves genetically engineering a patient's own T cells to simultaneously express CARs targeting two distinct B-cell surface antigens: CD19 and CD20. This dual-targeting strategy is designed to mitigate the risk of antigen escape—a common resistance mechanism in single-target CAR-T therapies where tumor cells lose expression of the target antigen (e.g., CD19 loss). By addressing heterogeneous or low antigen expression on tumor cells, A-02 aims to improve the durability and efficacy of treatment for B-cell malignancies. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial for adult patients with relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
