Drug intelligence / Profile preview
anti-Der p 1 IgG is a monoclonal antibody designed to target the house dust mite (HDM) allergen Der p 1. Unlike traditional allergen-specific therapies that focus on neutralizing allergens or blocking IgE, this IgG antibody works through a neuroimmune axis involving the activation of Fc gamma receptors (FcγRs) on macrophages. This activation suppresses IgE-mediated itch circuits, including both histaminergic and leukotriene pathways. Research presented at AAAI 2026 demonstrated that a single dose of anti-Der p 1 IgG could significantly reduce scratching behavior in mouse models of atopic dermatitis and HDM-induced allergic itch, suggesting a potential therapeutic role for protective IgG antibodies in chronic pruritic disorders.
