Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APZ004 is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar developed by Foshan Ampze Biopharma (Annpobio) that targets the CD20 antigen. It is being developed as a biosimilar to rituximab (Rituxan/MabThera) for the treatment of hematological diseases, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). By binding to CD20 on the surface of B-lymphocytes, the drug mediates B-cell depletion through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), and induction of apoptosis. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development, focusing on hematological malignancies and potentially autoimmune conditions.
