Arthrofon

Arthrofon is a release-active pharmaceutical product developed by Materia Medica Holding for the treatment of chronic inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases. It contains ultra-low doses of affinity-purified antibodies to human tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), prepared using a proprietary technological process of repeated dilution and mechanical treatment, which the company terms 'release-activity'. The drug is indicated for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and various other arthropathies. It is marketed for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, which are achieved by modulating the activity of endogenous TNF-alpha and inhibiting the synthesis of pro-inflammatory mediators. Arthrofon is administered sublingually and is approved as an over-the-counter (OTC) medication in Russia and other CIS markets.
