Overview

AVETUX is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody referencing rituximab, developed by Avestha Gengraine Technologies (Avesthagen). It is designed to target the CD20 antigen, a protein primarily found on the surface of B-lymphocytes. By binding to CD20, AVETUX facilitates the destruction of B-cells through multiple pathways, including antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), and the induction of apoptosis. The drug is being developed for the treatment of B-cell-mediated conditions, including various types of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis. According to company pipeline information, AVETUX is currently in the preclinical or early clinical development stage, with patents filed to support its commercialization in emerging and global markets.
