B-NHL BFM regimen

The B-NHL BFM regimen is a multi-agent combination chemotherapy protocol developed by the Berlin-Frankfurt-Münster (BFM) cooperative oncology study group for the treatment of mature B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL) and B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) in pediatric and adolescent patients. The regimen is characterized by short-pulse, intensive cycles of chemotherapy stratified by disease stage and risk group. Standard components typically include high-dose methotrexate, cyclophosphamide or ifosfamide, cytarabine, vincristine, and dexamethasone, along with intrathecal chemotherapy for central nervous system prophylaxis. The protocol has evolved through several iterations, such as NHL BFM 95 and B-NHL BFM 04, and is widely used by international cooperative groups like NOPHO to achieve high event-free survival rates in pediatric B-cell malignancies.
