bangritinib

Bangritinib (HDM1005) is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) currently under clinical development by Hangzhou Huadong Medicine Group Biopharmaceutical. It is primarily targeted at myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), specifically polycythemia vera (PV) and essential thrombocythemia (ET). By inhibiting JAK2, bangritinib disrupts the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, which is often hyperactivated in MPNs due to mutations such as JAK2 V617F, thereby reducing the excessive production of red blood cells and platelets. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for patients with PV and ET who are resistant or intolerant to standard therapies like hydroxyurea.
