Overview

Bangruitinib (also known as HD-001) is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) developed by Hangzhou Huadong Medicine Group Biopharmaceutical. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), specifically polycythemia vera (PV) and myelofibrosis. The drug targets the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, which is frequently dysregulated in MPNs due to mutations such as JAK2 V617F, leading to the overproduction of blood cells. Bangruitinib is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials in China for patients with PV who are resistant or intolerant to hydroxyurea, aiming to provide a therapeutic alternative for patients who have failed standard frontline therapy.
