BBM-C101 is an adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapy candidate developed by Belief BioMed for the treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and other cervical lesions associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. The therapy is designed to deliver a therapeutic transgene that targets the E6 and E7 oncogenic proteins of HPV, which are the primary drivers of viral persistence and malignant transformation in cervical cells. By enhancing the immunogenicity of these viral antigens, BBM-C101 aims to stimulate a targeted immune response to clear infected cells and resolve pre-cancerous lesions, thereby preventing progression to cervical cancer. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
