Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BC-001 is a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by BioCell Innovations for the treatment of hematological malignancies. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's T cells to express a CAR that specifically targets the B-lymphocyte antigen CD19, a protein widely expressed on the surface of B-cell lineage leukemia and lymphoma cells. Once infused back into the patient, these engineered T cells recognize and bind to CD19-expressing malignant cells, triggering T-cell activation, expansion, and the subsequent release of cytotoxic granules to induce targeted cell lysis. BC-001 is currently in the preclinical stage of development, aiming to provide a potent immunotherapy option for patients with various B-cell cancers.
