BC001

BC001 is a fully human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that targets and blocks vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2). By inhibiting VEGFR2, BC001 disrupts VEGF-stimulated endothelial cell migration and tube formation, thereby suppressing tumor angiogenesis. Preclinical studies have shown that BC001 can inhibit the transdifferentiation of cancer stem cells into endothelial cells, further reducing tumor vascularization. The drug has demonstrated antitumor efficacy in various xenograft models, including colorectal, gastric, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Clinical development has included phase I trials as monotherapy and in combination with chemotherapy for advanced solid tumors[1][2][5]. In China, it is being developed for use in metastatic colorectal cancer in combination with trifluridine/tepiracil after failure or intolerance to standard therapies[7]. Its primary mechanism of action is antagonism of VEGFR2-mediated signaling.
