Overview

Bewintinib (HDM3002) is a potent and selective small-molecule inhibitor of Janus kinase 2 (JAK2), currently under development by Hangzhou Huadong Medicine Group Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of myelofibrosis, a rare bone marrow cancer characterized by excessive scar tissue formation and dysregulated blood cell production. By inhibiting the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, which is often overactive in myeloproliferative neoplasms due to mutations such as JAK2V617F, bewintinib aims to reduce splenomegaly and improve constitutional symptoms in affected patients. The drug is designed to offer a favorable safety and efficacy profile compared to existing JAK inhibitors by specifically targeting the JAK2 isoform.
