Overview

BIC-2019 is an investigational, autologous, dual-targeted chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Beijing Immunocano Biotech. It is engineered to simultaneously express CARs targeting two distinct B-cell surface antigens, **B-lymphocyte antigen CD19** and **B-lymphocyte antigen CD20**. This dual-targeting strategy is designed to overcome the limitations of single-antigen CAR-T therapies, specifically to mitigate the risk of disease relapse caused by 'antigen escape,' where malignant cells downregulate or lose a single target protein. BIC-2019 is primarily being evaluated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell malignancies, including B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (B-LBL), particularly in pediatric populations.
