Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BT-002 is an orally administered monoclonal antibody variant designed to target and neutralize tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). Developed by Progenity (now Biora Therapeutics), it is intended for the treatment of systemic inflammatory conditions. The drug utilizes the proprietary BioJet™ smart capsule, a needle-free delivery platform that bypasses the digestive environment to deliver biologics directly into the systemic circulation. Once the capsule reaches the small intestine, it uses a liquid jet injection mechanism to deliver the antibody into the intestinal submucosa, aiming to achieve therapeutic blood levels comparable to injectable formulations while providing the convenience of oral dosing. BT-002 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
